BOOK DESCRIPTION

Too often we keep silent about our experiences and failures in the pursuit of love. As a result, countless other women suffer in silence, thinking that no one understands and believing they have to carry their hurt and shame alone.

Breaking the Silence is a compilation of lessons that author Riisa Renée has learned in her quest to love and be loved. By detailing her own experiences with socially relevant and taboo topics she crafts an inspirational memoir and spiritual guide that is vividly raw in its truthfulness. Throughout every personal challenge in her story, the message that resounds most clearly is that regardless of who we are or what we have experienced, God is able to arrange the story of our lives in such a way that the end will be far greater than anything we could ever imagine.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

As the daughter of a pastor, Riisa Renee was raised in church and given a solid foundation in the Word of God from as early as she can remember. Active in ministry and hungry for the Word of God throughout her childhood and high school years, when she went away to college, Renee experienced a crisis of faith. It was there that she was tested, it was here that she failed, and it was there that set the stage for her journey back to Christ, to His will for her life, and to an intimate and deeply personal relationship with Him.

Renee often tells young people to whom she ministers that there will come a time in your life when you have to know what you believe and why you believe it for yourself. A personal relationship will keep you when religion cannot.

Renee's children, Reggie and Nadia, are the joys of her life and keep her grounded. She savors the gift of every moment that she has with them -- they are her greatest source of laughter and entertainment. Who knew one little heart could hold so much love?
